Introduction. Currently, there is no holistic representation of the pedagogical system that developed in IX–XII centuries on territory Arab East and Central Asia. The reconstruction heritage will, firstly, let lay a value platform for determining coordinates development Islamic education present period; secondly, appeal to positive experience can contribute solution educational tasks modern Russian education. purpose article holistically theory one founders oriental pedagogy – al-Khwarizmi. Methodology. following methodological foundations are defined: at philosophical level civilizational, general scientific systemic oriental, concrete axiological approaches. biographical, historical-typological constructive-genetic methods historical research used. main sources were works Arab, Persian Asian researchers, as well published foreign authors who considered various problems culture medieval Islam.
